« I'm looking for the link that unites the spirit with the shape. »

After having participated in numerous prestigious exhibits such as the Traces of the Sacred exhibit at the Pompidou Centre, Yazid Oulab took up residency in the famous Calder Studio in 2009.

His work is a biography sublimated by poetry, inspired by spirituality that originates both here and there. Through his works, whose contents are varied, he tirelessly explores themes of link and transmission, which turn up in objects that borrow from both religious imagery as well as the skilled labourer's prosaic environment. His work stretches out like the tale of an awakening that is both material and spiritual, in which he portrays objects that allow two different cultures to be linked together symbolically. Since 1983, Yazid Oulab has been exhibiting works that are entirely dedicated to the vibrations of the intangible, through carefully orchestrated mystical resonances.
